England’s
Football Association has
opted for the super eagles of Nigeria as possible opponent for the three lions
in a world cup build up match at Wembley on the 2nd of June 2018.
The FA had earlier considered Senegal and Ghana for an international friendly
match as they prepare to play Tunisia in their first world cup match in Russia.
This
will serve as pre world cup preparation for both teams as Nigeria will also
battle a European country, Croatia in their first game.
The
English FA declared that playing the super eagles will attract more viewers at
Wembley because of the presence of Nigerian players in the English league and
large following fans unlike Senegal and Ghana who does not have players as much
as Nigeria in the country.
“England has chosen Nigeria, with the popular
following the Nigerian national team thought to have been a factor behind the
decision.
England
will fly out to their Russian training camp immediately after the international
friendly.
